This website is primarily aimed at recording the preservation and restoration of ex-British Railways 'Palbrick B' wagon B462772.
In doing so, it is necessary to record something of the history of these interesting wagons, and hopefully this will go some way to answering the most commonly asked question: why?
Preparation of this website would not have been possible without the use of several books and other sources, and the assistance of a number of individuals, and I gratefully acknowledge their contribution and support here.
I would welcome further contributions. I am particularly seeking photographs of these wagons in service, detailed drawings to assist with the restoration, information on other Palbricks, and certain spare parts. If you think that you can help with any of these, please get in touch via email.
This photograph shows, from left to right, a Palbrick A, two Palbrick
Cs (one with one of the side panels upside-down!), and two Palbrick Bs.
Makes you wonder why they bothered building three different types
ostensibly for different pallet sizes, doesn't it?
